Disturbing
By: Mark W Adams

Greenwald:
The linchpin of a republic under civilian rule -- as well as faith in the armed services by a cross-section of Americans -- is an apolitical military. Like all other branches of the government intended to be apolitical, this linchpin is eroding under this administration,

The Courtiers of Versailles on the Potomac dance a particularly disturbing Fox (News) Trot, clearly mastering the propaganda techniques of the worst of controlled media employed by more authoritarian regimes while adapting them to a nation priding itself on a "free" press.

Glen publishes a letter from one such Courtier, the spokesman for General Petraeus, which could have been written by any number of bloggers in Wingnuttystan. Such spin meisters are rare indeed, especially for their chutzpah.

It's the reason you can get caught staging a Potempkin press conference for FEMA and get a promotion. Such skills, audacity and lack of anything resembling integrity are unique -- and this administration has more than "a few good men," and could use all the bad men it can find -- or at least ones that have no shame publicly displaying their partisanship.
