If this were done nationwide, I'd be all for apportioned votes in the Electoral College instead of the winner take all system in play everywhere but Maine and Nebraska. And there was no doubt that if California split up their vote, other States would soon follow suit -- but doubtfully in time for the '08 election. Which, after all, was the whole Rovellian point.
Good riddance to cynical politics.
