If the news division is a "pimple on the elephant’s behind" of the major entertainment conglomerates that own the TeeVee networks, G.E. and Microsquish (NBC, MSNBC), Viacom (CBS, Comedy Central's Daily Show), Disney (ABC), NewsCorp (Fox News); then what are bloggers?

Maybe we're the puss, more specifically the white corpuscles, part of the body politic's immune system fighting the infection. Of course, that makes Right Wing Blogistan the infection itself, the errant ingrown hair or speck of dirt clogging the pore.

Individual bile spewing wingnut bloggers like L.G.F.'s Charles Johnson, Instalinker, the Powerline boys, Michelle Malkin, Pam Atlas, Drudge, the Freepers; they must be the bacteria. The smaller but notable ones like the duToits and Dean Esmay don't even rate single cell status, but are mere viruses, bacteriophages that infect a bacterium.

Don't ask me why I think of such things, and I won't ask you to think on them too much.
